I'm dead serious. The title's not any sort of joke. From dawn until dusk, all I ever think about is drawing. At the start of the day, I turn on my computer and draw. I take a break - I go to DA and try to get some inspiration for drawing. I keep drawing. Mum asks if I want to go swimming at the beach. I decline to continue sketching. Another break. I go though my gallery and critique my own pictures - because I need to know what I should improve on with the picutre I'm currently working on. I decided to draw something quick to get back in the swing of things. I do. I continue woking on my bigger image.
I reply to my messages in between drawing. Kay, done that, keep drawing without interruptions.
Dad says dinner's ready - I take the plate upstairs but end up neglecting the food until it gets cold in favour of drawing.
Finished today's picture upload... oh, it's 1am. I go to bed, and while I drift off to sleep thing about what I'm going to draw tomorrow.

Is this entirely healthy?! Because... I know that I want to be the best I can be, and practice is good and all... but I swear this is getting ridiculous. All I do is sit on the computer all day... not getting any exercise. And when I'm not at the computer, all I can think about is the time I'm wasting because I'm not practicing or improving.

Ah, I dunno why I'm making this journal. Ranting? Advice? My head hurts...

Dear Secret Santa,
Please oh please draw me Ayem. She's magical and wonderful and oh! She looks like this… . I hope you can draw her! If you don't want to draw my special magical character, then try drawing these...

Seriously ANY character I have in my gallery, no matter how insignificant they may seem. (Provided they're my character, of course!)

Thank you so much! Oh! And don't forget to eat the cookies I laid out. Happy Holidays to you!

Am Sick

Ugh. Sick AGAIN. As soon as it's holidays. Why, oh why?!
Bleagh... wanted to go back and work at Animal Aid for the summer, but I freakin' can't now. ;_; Least not for a while.
Making a journal about it 'cause it means not as much productivity as I would have if I were one-hundred percent healthy. So I wouldn't ask for any commishes around now. XD
Also, I'm in that secret santa thing, and I needed to post that wishlist thing. Sounds like so much fun!

Hum. I feel AGAIN like my art's getting worse instrad of improving. Does anyone else look through older submissions and wonder why the arts they submitted about three months ago is so much better than the crap they pump out now? Or is it just me?

SE being special edition...
Kay, so I was going through and watching the 'new' lion king, the one with the Morning Report in it... (No, my question ISN'T about that part...)
I was near the end of 'I Just Can't Wait to be King' and one of the short scenes was COMPLETELY redrawn! Fot the wuck? You know the part of the song where the crocodiles sing and say 'Let's hear it in the herd and on the wiiiiing?' And when they open their mouths, blue birds pop out?
Check this out...

Old scene:

New Scene:

My question is... WHY? The old scene looks better anyway! And what was the point of redrawing something that goes un-noticed? It's plain weird!

Mmkay, I THINK I know the answer now. Someone made a comment about how the original crocs looked too much like someone elses design, so they redrew them to avoid copyright issues.
So, that's cleared up now! :D
But still feel free to comment on how freakin' weird the new ones look.
'Cause I have some stamps I wanna add and some polls I wanna make. :P But the link seems to be pushed up under the dA toolbar, and I can't get to it. So, would anyone with a subby be kind enough to give me the link to journal enhancements? Provided it works for you too.

I was gonna draw something really awesome... I was really inspired. And then I get some lousy virus. It was nothing major, and my anti-virus took care of it, but it just pissed me off so much. Too angry to draw now.

In other news, Wind Waker is one of the best games I've played. It stole some of the ideas I wanted to put into my game, though. XD Great minds think alike, permaybe?
From DA or otherwise... though DA is preferred.
Yum... textures. I have no idea where to get any good ones. Looking up 'texture' in DA's search didn't give many pleasing results. (At least for what I was looking for.)
I think I need a hug.
Okay, for starters,  wanted to ask anyone who reads this if they could do one or two things. DA is a big place, and there's tons of artist's art on this site... BUT would anyone care to post their favorite picture out of every picture they've ever seen on DA? This is mine:
Cerberus by DanSchoening
Out of every picture I've ever seen on DA, that is my favorite. I can never ever get sick of looking at it. It was close, with anything… there being among my top favorites ever, but, man. That cerberus pic by DanSchoening really gets me inspired everytime.
Also, do you have a favorite artist on DA? If so, who? I'd say mine, but mine changes so frequently. (Though at the moment, I have taken a huge liking to mhannecke's art.)

So, I guess I'm just curious. Or maybe would like to see some really kickass art. Combination, I think.

In Melbourne! Whoot! Well, not so much 'Melbourne' more a suburb in Melbourne. Or almost in it/out of it etc pancake.
I used to live there, see? But I moved four years ago. Geez, I miss it. I mean, I cry everytime I think about it I miss it that much. It's so beautiful there, and I had wonderful friends and everything.

It was so wonderful to go back, though. I mean, when I wasn't crying. My friends must have thought I was ignoring them or something since I didn't talk as much... but I felt I would burst out crying sometimes. I seriously felt like abandoning games design and just moving back there. Which is weird. I should get that stupid thought out of my head.

Eh, this is turning into one of those pubecent whiney journals. O.o

Less drama, more art! :D

Oh yes, and I decided I might try writing a how to draw book. Just 'cause. I think it'd be cool. What better way to get myself known than to get a book published?

Didn't wanna make another journal about it. Tagged by Stasiuk.
You know how people make those journals saying: 'Ask me a question!' and stuff? It sounded so fun! I think I want to do one too. :)

So, yar. Asketh awayeth!

Also, I was curious to know from all of you... what, for you, makes a movie really enjoyable? Is it the acting? The subtle camera angles? Character development? Guess I just wanna know what everyone out there likes.
I woulda made a poll, but there are too many things that make movies cool.
Only problem is, it won't draw straight. Or, everything turns out blocky. You know when you draw a line too fast, and it kinda goes all geometric because you're going to fast? It's doing that for a relatively normal speed. Any tablet users know what's wrong there? Or how I can fix it?

I've had enough practice with the uni ones to hopefully do something pretty cool. I mean, after trying the tablets out things are... just so much faster and easier. It's be good to get the stuff I need done on the tablet.

But dang thing, it's all blocky. ;_;

But inspiration still runs strong! I've naught been this inspired for a long while.

Not to worry! I downloaded a CS3 trial, and it doesn't do that blocky thing. At all. Not even when I move the stylus as fast as my dog when it's bath time.

It is gonna be EPIC. I'm really excited to watch this soon-to-be web series.
One of the people who made it went to my uni, so I've seen some of it. And it is just... awesome.

I hope he doesn't mind me pimpin' him here. ^^; But it deserves it.
Go see the trailer now!
For a very selfish reason. So, I'm so totally ALMOST out of an artist block, and I need some inspiration. So, what I want you to do is comment with a link to one of your characters... and I'll choose a couple of people to trade with whose characters I want to draw the most. Sound okay? :P What can I say? I feel like I've got my drawing skills back, but have nothing to draw.
I'll check tomorrow or the next day or something everyone's characters and decide.

Man, these comments are piling up fast. D: I won't reply to these ones, kay? I'll send you a note if I want to trade with you.

I got the Spore creature creator too. It is heart. In biggest art block of my life. Need Mi Goreng noodles.
And it doesn't. Freakin'. Work. I tried to play Ratchet and Clank, and it was all: 'You don't have enough space on your hard disk drive'. WHAT THE HELL. I just bought it. There's nothing on it.
I was so excited... more than I had been for a long time. And it didn't work. :(
I did everything the manual said... make a new internal memory card, assign a slot... I even searched troubleshooting online and am trying everything I can find. (I'm currently waiting for it to reformat... it's taking 4-5 hours.)

Is this a common problem? Am I doing something wrong? Is there some magic button I have to press to get it working? Am I really stupid and the answer is so obvious you're all laughing at me?!

RLihgalihqliq. I hate this new PS3.

In happier news, I managed to find Sly 2. :) But my sister is hogging it. DX

Problem may have been found... it seems it's R&C instead of the actual console. But if you have any other ideas that you think may help, feel free to throw 'em out there.
I am so confused. I'm doing a bachelor in games design... and I love games design so. I mean, I come up with games concepts in my spare time... working out the gameplay and all the levels and whatnot...
BUT I also love animation. A lot. My love between games and animation fluctuates frequently. But recently I've been feeling animation is the way for me to go. I... dunno why exactly. Even as I speak now I'm thinking if it's just a stange and I'll go back to liking games more.
I love writing the stories and the aniamtion is so fun. I could sit there all day and animate. (And I have, and I'd do it again.) Seeing all these short films out there makes me really really want to start doing some. And I'd love to get an Intership at the almighty Pixar. (Though I don't know if that'd happen... I mean, it's Pixar. ;_;)
I kinda feel, though I do like games, I'm not as 'game savvy' as a lot of other people. But stories, man... I love them. And thinking about how the scenes would be put together...

But then I think about desining games and I feel the same way. DX

I'm thinking I should switch from games to animation. Because I can see an animation student still getting into games. But not the other way around.

What do you all think?
I feel exactly the same. Bleaugh... had a good birthday, though. All that saving up for a PS3 and my mum gets me one. XD Haven't got it yet, darn it. She said she'd wait for the 80 gig one to come into stock.
Went to a farmstay. It was fun. They had various farm-related activities. Like sheep. 8D And fluffy scottish cows. And dogs. Many dogs. Too many dogs. Puppies. Lotsa hay, which I jumped around in, and eh...
Yar. That's why I wasn't here. I was jumping around hay.

Gah... I lost my USB which had this picture I was in the middle of doing. And i was so proud of it, too... *searches*
Everytime I look, pics in my favorites are missing. I bring them back by viewing everything, and putting them back in fetured, but they just dissapear again when I add something new to my favs. Is anyone else having this problem/know how to fix it?
In other news, I've never been so uninspired. Everything I draw lookes like it's made of wood. And everytime I try to colour something it turns out looking lazy and crap. It's not that I can't draw... it's just I don't know what to draw.
I've heard listening to music helps. Perhaps I should start doing it... Do you all listen to music? *makes poll*
It's more volunteer work, actually. I'm gonna be working down at the local pound and I'm so excited. :D All those animals that need a lovin'. Some come in so young that they need to be bottle fed and socialized with humans, and that's gonna be part of what I do. (Including picking up their poo and cleaning their beds and cages... but I don't mind that.)
It feels really good to be doing something like this. Bwahaha... I start with the cats tomorrow. There was this little kitten in there tho other day whoose owners I think didn't care for him properly and was very sick. Poor little kitten... I hope I can take care of him tomorrow.
And this pound doesn't put down their dogs. Whoo! No matter how long they stay. I really hate when people put down dogs just 'cause there's not enough space.

Also, that lion animation I was planning on doing is turning out really hard. It took me all day to draw 2 seconds worth of animation... and I only outlines half of it. DX I'm gonna be busy these comming months with dogs and cats to look after and assignments to do. X.X…

What the hell?

I saw The Dark Knight.... meh.

(No Spoilers)
Am I seriously the ONLY person on planet Earth who thought that movie was just... okay? Not increadible, not amazing - I honestly thought it was pretty average. I mean, it was alright. I'd give it a 6-7, around there. But I REALLY don't see how this is thought to be the most amazing movie ever.
I thought I might like to hear what other people thought of it. Since everyone in my class was all like: 'OMG Batmaaaan is awesomely 1337.' I really prefered Iron Man... Batman was too serious. (Yes, go on. Comment 'Why So Serious?'. You know you want to. XD) Kind of a 'geez when is this going to end?' for me.
But, yeah. What did you think?

(KINDA Spoilers...)
It didn't help that I have a phobia of having pencils near my face in that... part. *shudders*
(End Spoilers)

By the way, I'm not angry... I just can't change my mood again. Blasted thing...
